Follows consistent, lore grounded standards to support believable movement, communication delays and strategic planning. Exact distances are rarely known in world, so travel times are based on reasonable estimation, narrative context and mode of travel.
Westeros consists of (8) major regions, with Essos and the wider world beyond.
Distances below are approximations used to maintain fairness and consistency across play.
Conditions to Remember
Travel times may be modified by weather, conflict, terrain or narrative conditions.
Dragons dramatically alters strategic timelines and is treated accordingly.
All long distance travel should be reflected through roleplay and/or Story Requests when relevant.
Geographic Scale Reference in Westeros
- North to South = 3,000 miles
- East to West at widest = 900 miles
- The Wall = 300 miles
Standard Travel Rates
Land Travel
- On Foot = 25 miles per day
May be pushed to 50 miles per day, but each push costs (1) Health. - On Horseback = 40 miles per day
A hellride allows 80 miles per day for (2) consecutive days, but kills the horse. - Wagons, pack animals or carriages = 30 miles per day
Sea Travel
- Standard Sailing = 100 miles per day
- Hard Sailing = 200 miles per day
Day and Night

Dragon Flight
- Unburdened Dragons = 100 miles per hour
Single rider - Burdened Dragons = 50 miles per hour
